Inaugural “Huayu Cup” Badminton Tournament Kicks Off in Wuwu City

On the afternoon of April 29, the inaugural “Huayu Cup” Badminton Friendship Tournament, jointly hosted by the Wuwu Enterprise Federation and Anhui Huayu Cable Group Co., Ltd., was grandly held at the Jiangxinzhou Badminton Stadium in Gaogou Town, in Wuwei City of Anhui province, one of the four major cable production bases in China. Attendees included Wenbin Wu, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Wuwu Enterprise Federation; Deputy Secretary Yongzhi Zhou; Mingzhu Ye, Party Branch Secretary and Chairman of Anhui Huayu Cable Group Co., Ltd.; Vice Chairman Mingjin Ye; as well as all players, referees, and staff, totaling over 100 participants.

The opening ceremony commenced with a stirring rendition of the national anthem. In his speech, Chairman Mingzhu Ye of Anhui Huayu Cable Group Co., Ltd. extended a warm welcome and heartfelt gratitude to leaders, players, referees, and staff. The tournament featured doubles matches across four skill-based divisions. The group stage followed a round-robin format, while the knockout phase used a crossover bracket. On the court, players focused intently, their eyes tracking the shuttlecock’s swift trajectory. Powerful clears, smashes, drops, and slices lit up the matches as the shuttlecock arced gracefully through the air. Their agility, quick reflexes, and seamless teamwork drew cheers and applause from spectators. After the matches, an awards banquet themed “Glory Together” was held at Huayu Cable Group’s Chuangyi Hall. Leaders, players, referees, and staff gathered to celebrate achievements and shared the chapter of friendship.
